RAHU on 3CR’s Thursday Breakfast (July 4th)
On Thursday July 4th, The Renters and Housing Union secretary, Harry Millward spoke to, Inez and, Leila from 3CR’s Thursday Breakfast about RAHU’s recent submission to about the amendments to minimum rental standards in Victoria.
A short summary is provided below, adapted from the 3CR website:
Last month, the Allan government announced a long awaited amendment to the minimum rental standards in Victoria.
While change is welcomed by renters and advocates, there are significant oversights – some of which were covered in the July 6 Thursday Breakfast with, Sophie Emder from Sweltering Cities. This week, we are joined by Harry, secretary of the Renters and Housing Union, to discuss their submission on the proposed minimum standards.
Sweltering Cities and RAHU worked together to centre community in their submissions by running a series of workshops, and today we will be delving into the recommendations formulated as a result.
