What? The 11 proposals that we will be voting on have been emailed to all members, contact [email protected] if you dont have them

Who? Every member of the Renters And Housing Union may attend. Be to eligible to vote you must RSVP by responding to this email or RSVP on our website so that you can be added to the online voting portal, this is because I’m required to check members are eligible to vote. You may also submit a proxy to vote on your behalf using our standard form here at least 24 hours before the meeting.

Why? During the RAHU Annual General Meeting, members had submitted 49 special resolutions to vote on, meaning that each item had a maximum of 5 minutes for questions and debate. This rushed a lot of important conversation with serious ramifications for the Unions governance.

RAHUs Governing Committee has voted to revisit items that were less than 10% away from passing the 75% threshold (sometimes by 1 or 2 votes) and the items that were connected to them (such as conflicting proposals) to ensure a fair hearing. This cuts the proposals which will brought to the Special General Meeting down to 11 items, allowing for these items to be discussed at greater length and for votes to be cast again.
